The truth will set you free, and Molly Moore is encouraging everyone to live theirs to the fullest with her new single “Shy”!
Often times, we may feel the need to hold back our own feelings about others in order to not seem too pushy or eager. Earning the title of being “obsessed” may not always be one to wear with pride. We may also feel the need to avoid conflict, or an uncomfortable exchange that could escalate into one. But is it really worth it to bottle everything in? After thinking it all through, Molly pulled out her pen and paper and started writing “Shy.”
“This song was written in a stream of consciousness,” Molly said. “It was one of those times when I listened to the words I was naturally saying while writing the melodies, and they fit exactly how I was feeling without really having to change much. I was starting to feel a spark and wanted to know if the other person felt it too. It felt like they were holding back what they were feeling, and I wanted to know if I was just too in it alone or if what I was feeling was real. In general, I think people should be encouraged to communicate more freely and honestly, and so often we hide our truth in an attempt to make someone else’s experience better, but we end up making the entire situation more complicated.”
Co-produced by her dear friends NoMBe and Mike Gonek, “Shy” takes listeners on a playful ride into a delightful, groovy soundscape. The lyrics and melodies encourage liberation of the heart, so don’t be afraid to get up and sway to the beat!
“Shy” is also Molly’s latest single from her forthcoming EP Escapism, due February 11. As a follow-up to her debut album Voice on the Internet, Molly will showcase the next chapter of her self-love and acceptance journey, accepting both the high and low points of being in love.
