Have you recently caught yourself thinking of a time when things seemed to be so much easier in life? While time machines aren’t available just yet, Winona Oak wants to help you free your mind (even if it’s just a teeny tiny bit) today with her new single “Island Of The Sun.”

As you listen to the dreamy track by the multi-talented artist, both you and Winona will be taken to a place of peace. Winona Oak grew up the Nordic forests of Sweden on a small island called Solens ö – also known as the Island of the Sun. She was raised in a musical family, and started playing the violin when she was 5 years old. When she grew older, she decided to move to Stockholm to pursue her passion for making music. Although she has come quite a long ways since then, sometimes she can’t help but look back.

This song was created on a sunny evening in Los Angeles when I was going through a really tough time and felt more homesick than ever,” Winona spills. “I grew up on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 5360 miles from LA in the middle of the Nordic forests of Sweden on a small island called Solens ö, a.k.a. Island of the Sun. The island works as a metaphor for a place when everything’s peaceful and simple. Like that time in your childhood when the world is only as big and beautiful as you make it, you know as we grow older we tend to complicate things. I want the island to represent a happy place in ourselves or in a relationship, a bittersweet yearning for a place we ache to go again.
