Peer pressure can be pretty hard to resist, especially when you’re in your formative years. While some of the things we did as tweens or teens might make us shiver, Max Frost is inviting us on a trip down memory lane… all for the sake of his new single, “Cool Kids.”
Once upon a time in middle school, Max Frost found himself playing guitar gigs around his hometown of Austin. Fast forward a few years, the eclectic singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist hopped onto tours with artists such as Twenty One Pilots, Fitz and The Tantrums, Panic! At The Disco, and even his own! In 2018, Max released his debut album Gold Rush, and saw his single “Good Morning” land syncs from Pepsi, ESPN, CBS, American Idol, and more.
During the pandemic, Max knew exactly what to do in order to remain a cool kid. He launched his own TikTok page, where he uploaded original mashups that have received millions of views. While he grew his fanbase, he also grew his horizons, teaming up with Rally to mint his own coin called Frost Coin [$Frost].
Max has also been working on tons of new music, including a new EP titled Flying Machines. We can expect to hear the completed project on May 6, which will include “Cool Kids.” This was the first song Max wrote for the EP, which helped set the tone for the rest of the project.
“‘Cool Kids’ is about sneaking out of your house in high school to hang out with people who will make you cool,” says Max. “It’s about existential angst and fear of the future driving you to numb out and make bad decisions. But it also tries to comfort the character in the song from the future in a way they will never hear.”
