Life will often present us with situations where we just feel stuck, but do we always want to have it the other way?

Well, I’m obviously not here to put anyone on the spot. Instead, I’m here to tell you to go listen to Max Drazen’s first single “Let Me Down Slow.”

Growing up in Connecticut, Max Drazen had a tendency to dig through his parents’ record collection – consisting of the greats like Elton John and Billy Joel. As he got older, his tastes consisted of a big juicy blend of artists spanning across multiple genres. Inevitably, his own music would follow the same course, being marinated in carefully crafted pop, rap, and R&B sounds.

In his junior year of high school, Max visited a friend and wrote his very first song. Though he was recruited by Middlebury College in Vermont to play soccer, songwriting started occupying Max’s heart. During the pandemic, he met collaborator Dave Villa in the midst of dozens of Zoom studio sessions. The two created “Let Me Down Slow,” which truly captured Max’s emotions as he approached a very difficult crossroads.

Max spilled, “This song has so much meaning to me personally. It’s the first song I’ve written that really captured how I was feeling at the time. It’s a song about holding on to something you know is not good for you but not being able to let it go. For me personally that was a relationship that affected me mentally for years. I’m thankful I had music and writing that allowed me to get to the other side of it. I hope people can find closure to their own experiences through my story.”

The release of “Let Me Down Slow” is just the first of many items on Max’s to-do list, as he embarks on his mission to release fun bangers you’ll build a bond with. As you browse through Max’s TikTok page, you’ll also feel his excitement and eagerness to share his stories with the world. There’s a level of charisma in his voice that is simply irresistible, and perhaps you’ll find his music to be an inevitable obsession.

“I’m trying to come out with big pop songs that everyone can relate to,” he says. “Songs that are super listenable, that people want to sing along to, but also have value in terms of storytelling and songwriting.”

We’ll be here for them, Max. Listen to “Let Me Down Slow” below!
