Cavetown Takes Us On A Trip To The “Grocery Store”

Cavetown has blossomed into one of the most preeminent voices in the bedroom pop scene. With over a billion global streams, a recent collaboration with beabadoobee, and an opening slot for Bleachers in LA, it’s safe to say 2022 has been a fantastic year for the singer.

So, what’s next for Cavetown? How about a trip down memory lane to revisit the “Grocery Store”?

Cavetown’s new single “Grocery Store” was written a while back, and tucked away for quite a while. But after sharing the song with Kina Beats, Cavetown saw his creation taking on exciting new forms.

“’Grocery Store’ took a few different forms before landing where it is now,” says Cavetown. “The lyrics started to come together when I was struggling with my mental health and had to go to the shop to pick up a few things. It’s always so difficult being in a public space when you’re feeling really awful. At first, I wasn’t super inspired by what I was writing until I worked with Kina Beats. That version of the song helped me feel inspired again, so I picked the idea back up and created ‘Grocery Store’.”
