The Way Life Goes

Hi my people! I know it’s been a while, and I would REALLY like to resume business as usual around here. But first, I felt like it would be extremely important to address a few things that have been going on in my life and get everyone up to speed. I’m also trying to wake my brain up before class, and what better way to do that than write a bit?!

As some of you may know… or have picked up on the hints, I moved to LA for school last week. I’m studying advertising and PR at CSUDH as a transfer, and I feel like this is the most satisfied I’ve been with life in a very, very, VERY long time.

I don’t mean to feed into the narrative that you MUST live in a city like LA, New York or even Nashville to make your dreams come true if they involve music, or that if you full send it and move to one of these three every door will open up for you automatically. But sometimes, you just know you belong in a certain place, and you’ve seen/felt so many signs that prove you do. Some of them can’t be explained to others, you just know when it’s time to move on and do a certain something. It’s not that San Diego isn’t a nice place, but I had been feeling stuck for years, and it was getting to the point where if I hadn’t made this change… I really don’t even know what I’d be doing? One thing is for sure though, I wouldn’t want to find out!

There were many situations where that feeling of “it’s time to move on” was way too overwhelming for me, and I just knew coming here was going to give me the peace of mind that I really needed. So far, I have it… and ultimately, that’s all I wanted.

It feels amazing not having impostor syndrome consume me offline, or just not feeling like I have to be embarrassed about my goals or even my hobbies. I really want to re-fuel my creative side again though, and I hope (sooner than later) I’ll be able to go back into the photo pit. If you’re still reading this, all I ask of you is to please let me feel your support. If you have any information on organizations I can join that might help me get closer to reaching my professional goals, it would be very much appreciated. I’d really like to meet up for boba with my music people out here… please let me know if you’re down! And of course, if you find a song on here that you like and decide to share it, I will love you endlessly.

Here’s a few cool things I’ve done since I arrived! I got to check out KARD at The Wiltern last Friday, and they were absolutely in-credi-ble. BM mentioned that if it was our first KARD concert, we’d surely be in for a treat… and it was! I also saw a big electronic billboard with Amelia Moore on it (she’s featured as Apple Music’s Up Next artist) and you bet I freaked out the moment I saw it. Amelia is no stranger to my blog, and she will always have my support ♡

I went to a very cool BTS In The Seom-themed food party called “Wish You Were Here!” in Torrance. It was hosted by @oh.ddaeng on Instagram, and held at a restaurant called Pinky’s Hot Box. The food was delicious – it had been a few years since I ate hot chicken! There were so many adorable decorations, and plenty of cool vendors too.

I visited Tam’s in Compton yesterday, and the fries were definitely something I’ll be going back for! The burger I had was good too, but thick seasoned fries were one of my favorite things as a kid.

I GOT MY NCT 127 TICKET!

I also started a daily diary, because I want to make the absolute most out of every day and don’t want to forget anything I did! Daiso has BT21 diaries, and I chose Tata for this one. There’s also something so *chef’s kiss* about using your cute stationary and picking up a pen and paper and writing the good old fashioned way.

Anyways, I think my brain is awake now! Tomorrow I’ll be working The Weeknd’s concert at SoFi Stadium, and I’m so excited. Hope to see some of you there! ♡
