There’s certain songs that pair perfectly with very specific scenarios in life. Will Linley crafted his new single “Last Call” for those great cinematic moments that you can’t believe actually happened! It’s a special treat from the 21-year-old musician and songwriter, who has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon over the past two years.
As a kid growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, Will Linley always had dreams of becoming a musician. Linley loved music – in fact, there was always a big chance you’d be able to catch him singing around the house with his three brothers! He started writing songs at a young age, and went on to study classical singing and high school.
It wasn’t until 2020 when Linley decided to start teasing music on TikTok. His debut single “miss me (when you’re gone)” was released in November 2021, and wowed his new fans from all across the globe. Back at home in South Africa, the song went #1 on the airwaves, and even reached Gold status! Linley recently opened up for OneRepublic on their South African dates, and he’s ready to give the rest of the world a delightful listening experience with all that he has in store!
Linley says, “’Last Call’ is a song that encapsulates the feeling of falling in love. It is born from a place of nostalgia, romance; ‘rolling credits end scene’ energy! It’s a song people can dance too, listen to on long road trips, or just in the shower.”
What it’s giving: It’s the early afternoon on a Saturday, and you’re riding in your mom’s mini van to your favorite relative’s house for a holiday party. You’re tired of listening to Michael Bublé on repeat (sorry mom!) and you need a song you can jump around to a little bit, while still providing an easy listening experience. Luckily, both of you will fall in love with this one, and Will Linley himself!
