By now, LOVA should be used to cranking out bop after bop after bop. With her new single “Ego,” the Swedish singer takes it all to the next level as she describes how it’s like giving someone or something your all… only to be left feeling like you’re falling short of the expectation.
(The synth in this song is so pretty, I could cry tears of joy… just like the ones a movie character would shed when they watch their enemy suffer a tremendous ego death. Muahahaha. lmao.)
LOVA spills, “You give and give and give, but no matter how much you try, the person is never satisfied. It doesn’t necessarily have to be just one person either, but this song is inspired by many things. For example, the music industry or today’s climate on social media, where creators mass-produce and overexpose content day in and day out, while consumers continue to crave more. It’s draining and tiring, and in the end, we have to put our foot down and prioritize ourselves over everyone else and their opinion.”
