GAYLE is currently traveling across the country for her ‘scared but trying’ Tour, and the Grammy Award nominated singer led a night full of fun at LA’s El Rey Theatre on October 25!
Singer-songwriter Dylan kicked off the show with an energetic set, letting the crowd truly feel her rockstar aura. Dylan recently toured with Ed Sheeran on the European leg of his ‘Mathematics’ Tour. As she gripped her guitar, Dylan let her bold vocals float throughout the room and it sent fans into a frenzy.
(I should also note that watching Dylan put on a pink cowgirl hat, holding a red sparkly guitar, all while singing “Every Heart But Mine” was a TOTAL core memory being made.)
Once it was time for GAYLE’s set, her and her guitar visited just about every corner of the stage. She didn’t just come to play some songs for the crowd – she came to rock! Those familiar with GAYLE’s music know you’ll get a hefty dose of angst from the majority of her catalog offerings, and shouting along to these songs can feel empowering. Hearing the crowd do exactly that was magical, and dare I say it, a little healing. Most importantly, it contributed to the overall vibe of the show being a total Gen-Z celebration.
2023 has been an incredible year for GAYLE, and embarking on a headline tour might just be considered the cherry on top. GAYLE released a few singles this year, and contributed to the Barbie soundtrack with “butterflies.” She joined Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour for select dates, and entered an exciting partnership with Lucky Brand.
GAYLE seemed to love the energy in the room that she helped create, and mentioned that a goal of hers was to put out an album and to return to El Rey. She said, “Can this be a thing for us?”
