BLACKSWAN brought their very first US fanmeeting tour to Buena Park!

BLACKSWAN is a girl group from DR Entertainment featuring members NVee, Gabi, Sriya, and leader Fatou. Each member comes from a different cultural background, and they are currently the only active K-Pop group without Korean members. Lumina, BLACKSWAN’s official fanbase, has waited patiently for the girls to promote in the United States. Thankfully, the members had an amazing surprise prepared for their American fans this fall.

As part of a series of appearances across California, BLACKSWAN held a free fanmeeting at The Source in Buena Park on November 9. Fans old and new gathered on the first level of the mall to see the group perform a handful of songs, including “Cat & Mouse,” “Karma,” and “Over & Over.” Most importantly, it was an opportunity for Lumina to create an unforgettable memory with BLACKSWAN.

When the members arrived, I could really feel their excitement towards meeting Lumina. Almost immediately, NVee mentioned that she was so excited and happy to meet everyone, especially in her home country of the United States! 

BLACKSWAN’s stage was very impressive, and each member showcased a level of professionalism and charisma that makes BLACKSWAN stand out from other girl groups. Being an entertainer takes tons of discipline, and the members clearly seemed to not only understand, but respect their roles as performers. Fatou said, “When we are in the practice room, I gotta stay strict. We’ve gotta stay strict in there, because if I don’t say it, the people who see it are going to be 100 times worse.” 

Throughout the fanmeeting, the members were able to open up to Lumina and discuss some of the things that make BLACKSWAN special. Fatou mentioned how it was always their CEO’s dream to create an international K-Pop group. She also said, “It’s a very new concept, a very interesting concept, and a very fun concept because we can bring so many cultures, sounds, and styles into K-Pop that’s not there yet. We’re looking forward to it!”

Along with the feelings of excitement came gratitude. There were moments where I could truly feel just how much admiration and appreciation BLACKSWAN has for Lumina. Sriya said, “I’m thankful for Lumina. Because of you guys, we are here. This could be possible all because of you guys, so thank you so much for always loving us and supporting us. We actually feel you. If we are in the dark, you are the light to save us. Thank you so much for always being there with us!”
