On February 22, Chappell Roan paid San Diego a visit as part of an extension of her Midwest Princess Tour. The sold-out affair brought over 2,000 fans together for a night full of glitter, body chains, and chanting along to bops such as “Red Wine Supernova” and “HOT TO GO!” Check out photos from the show below.
Chappell Roan created an environment where everyone in attendance could be themselves unapologetically – no matter who they identify as, who they love, or how one looks like. But throughout the show, there was also a feeling of an amazing, career-altering (in a good way!) change coming soon for Chappell. Her San Diego show was taking place the night before she joined Olivia Rodrigo as support for the GUTS World Tour. Chappell will be performing in arenas all over the United States for the next few months.
Chappell mentioned during the concert, “Tomorrow night I open for Olivia. I never played in an arena, I’m sure it’ll be fine.”
Besides embarking on an arena tour, Chappell also has a handful of music festival appearances lined up for the next few months! It all kicks off in April at Coachella.
At the show, Chappell also made sure to express her gratitude towards the fans who have helped bring her this far. She said, “Thank you for letting me be able to dress up in latex and giving me a reason to be a drag queen. This is just everything my 10 year old self would’ve loved, so thank you.”
The sky’s the limit for Chappell Roan! (I just hope she covers in rainbows when she gets there.)
