Welcome home, Em Beihold! (Yes, LA is her home.)
On the second to last night of her “Maybe Life Is Good Tour,” Em Beihold lived out her dreams by entertaining a sold-out crowd at El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. Throughout the night, Em gave the audience a perfect balance of fun and vulnerability. It all started with a live rendition of “Roller Coasters Make Me Sad,” a song about not feeling so happy while being surrounded by people who seem to be living their best lives.
Em Beihold is a huge mental health advocate, and named her tour after her song “Maybe Life Is Good” – which she considers to be a ‘life vest’ that helped her rise up from a dark place emotionally. Many of Em’s other songs also revolve around themes of mental health and wellness, and singing along with hundreds of other fans who have built their own unique relationships with these songs was magical!
At one point, Em admitted to having a bit of stage fright during the tour. Even though she was able to shake it all off, she was particularly nervous about how the LA show would go. One wouldn’t have suspected such a thing, based on her highly energetic stage prescience. The stage is Em’s playground – she hopped and skipped around, and interacted heavily with her fans.
