Thousands packed San Diego’s Pechanga Arena on September 5 to welcome Peso Pluma back to town for his Éxodo tour.
It’s been roughly one year since Peso Pluma’s last San Diego show, and since then, his popularity worldwide has skyrocketed even more! This past June, Peso Pluma released his latest album Éxodo – which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. He’s also made North American festival appearances throughout 2024, including performances at Coachella and Governor’s Ball. It seems pretty cool to be able to say you’ve accomplished all of that (and more) at age 25, right?
As soon as Peso Pluma hit the stage, it felt as though a very sweet chaos would ensue. He opened up the show with “LA DURANGO,” surrounded by nearly a dozen dancers wearing masks. The energy of the crowd exploded, and not one did it ever seem to die down as the night went on.
This was especially true as Peso Pluma started welcoming guests on stage, such as Jasiel Nuñez, Yng Lvcas, Hector Rubio, Gabito Ballesteros, Darey Castro, and even Don Toliver! While I’d say the crowd was at the edge of their seats awaiting who would be brought out next, everywhere I looked I could see fans standing up, jumping, shouting, and having the time of their lives. (It’s what we deserved, okay?) Peso Pluma has had a tendency to change up the setlist a bit throughout the tour, especially due to the varying lineup of guests per show. Many fans close to the stage shouted out song requests, hoping they’d have the chance to hear their favorite songs next. One of my personal favorite songs is “VVS,” and being able to hear it in person felt like a reward.
It was an epic night all around, and hopefully San Diego will get to see Peso Pluma again very soon!
