Happy Friday! Let’s chat about some of the awesome new music that just dropped today, shall we? And of course, let’s kick off this New Music Friday roundup with P1Harmony!
P1Harmony just released their 7th mini album (aka EP) SAD SONG. Don’t get me wrong – I’m always super eager to see what P1Harmony have prepared for listeners whenever they’re plotting a comeback. This comeback however, feels a whole lot different. It feels like everything they’ve been doing in the past has been brought to the next level. All of the members had their hands in producing this EP, which was a huge step for the group.
As for my favorite tracks? It’s a tie between “It’s Alright” and “Last Call”!
P1Harmony’s new mini album SAD SONG is out now for you to enjoy. Here’s some other exciting releases I’ll be listening to all throughout the weekend!
HUGEL and Diplo feat. Malou and Yuna – “Forever”
We can’t have a New Music Friday roundup on MY blog without talking about “Forever.” It felt like Diplo had been teasing this song on his social media accounts forever. After seven long months, the world gets to enjoy this beauty today!
Chris Lake and Disclosure – “in2minds”
We’ve been blessed by a trio today! Disclosure and Chris Lake teamed up to bring us “in2minds” today, which is already sounding like a huge hit.
Chris Lake says, “We made ‘in2minds’ the first day we got in the studio together. Disclosure and I are both pretty technical and with this song it feels like we kind of flexed on each other a little bit. The result is the collaboration of two minds.”
Haiden Henderson – “sweat”
Haiden Henderson will keep you dancing through the wee hours of the morning with his latest single “sweat.”
Haiden says, “This song is so unique to me because I wanted something that could hold up in a club while still feeling like it was made by a pop rock artist. It kinda feels like a sister song to ‘hell of a good time’ but a bit more direct in its message.”
Olivia O’Brien – “lower”
“I wrote ‘lower’ at a particularly low (pun intended) point in my life,” says Olivia. “To avoid getting overly morbid and potentially making everyone uncomfortable, I won’t go into too much detail… the bridge of the song already does that for me, I think. I am pretty incapable of censoring myself in my music, especially when I am really going through something. This song is a perfect example of that. I said everything I felt, without making it look pretty or be easily digestible, without adding any bells or whistles. Plain and simple. Just the hard truths of what it feels like to hit rock bottom… repeatedly.”
Here’s some additional releases I’m already obsessed with!
Jordan Ward feat. Joony – “Jealousy”
Nelly Furtado – 7
Louis The Child – The Sun Comes Up
Kito – BIMYOU
