You might recognize Madison Bailey for playing the role of Kiara in the hit Netflix series Outer Banks. Now, she’s formally introducing the world to her musical talents by sharing her first official single “The Grey.”
Growing up in North Carolina, Madison always had a love for listening to music and singing along! She would often lock herself in the bathroom and sing for hours on end, and would also perform for her family in the living room and garage. She joined many church choirs and vocal groups, and participated in various singing competitions thanks to a little push from her mother. Madison eventually shifted her energy towards modeling and acting, but in between filming seasons of Outer Banks, she decided it was time to take on making music!
With its refreshing, nostalgic pop sound, “The Grey” is an amazing first impression of the artist Madison Bailey is. Lyrically, the song describes the feeling of not fitting into a specific circle or category one might think they need to be in. Call it being in a “grey area,” if you will.
Madison says, “‘The Grey’ is about that feeling of not fitting into certain boxes or connecting with labels placed upon you by pressures of society: the message being to embrace yourself in that in-between place. It’s the perfect introduction to what I hope most of my music and message will be. It’s very honest and straight-up.”
