San Diego wished Fletcher a warm welcome back to town on Monday, October 7 when her In Search of the Antidote tour made its way to SOMA. Fletcher’s last visit to San Diego was in March 2022, with a sold out show at the Observatory. As you might guess, Monday’s show was sold out too! Fans filled every crevice of the floor, eagerly awaiting an amazing night.
The forever vibrant Maude Latour opened up the show, performing songs from her latest album Sugar Water.
About 20 minutes later, the stage lights went dark, and visuals of the milky way filled the large screen on the back of the stage. “Carrie” by Europe was playing, and I couldn’t help but crack up at how clever that was. Remember, Fletcher’s government name is Cari.
Despite the quick joke, no nonsense mode had been activated when Fletcher hit the stage. It’s great when our favorite artists have a lot to say to the crowd, but sometimes as fans we just want to get straight to the music. Fletcher was able to power through so many of her hits in what seemed like so little time, and even let the crowd choose whether they wanted to hear “Feel” or “Healing” that night. Everyone chose “Healing” (as they should!) and the audience went into a frenzy dancing and singing along.
