Baseball seemed to be the talk of the town in San Diego on the evening of October 9, as thousands of San Diego residents devoted their attention to watching the Padres and Dodgers go head to head in the MLB postseason. But for those who preferred to spend their Wednesday night partaking in a way less stressful activity, a treat awaited at The Observatory North Park.
British pop singer Griff brought her Vertigo tour to The Observatory, and it was a full-blown visual and audible spectacle. The tour was named after Griff’s debut album Vertigo, which was released in July 2024. Vertigo tackles the often disorienting whirlwind of emotions that comes with being a young adult.
As an appropriate choice, Griff opened up the show by performing the title track “Vertigo.” With each song performed, Griff danced around the stage with grace, keeping fans’ eyes glued on her. The lighting changed for every song, creating an even greater aesthetically pleasing experience. But of course, the most unforgettable aspect of the show was Griff’s incredible vocals. It was easy to tell that she’s someone who has truly honed her craft, and anyone who appreciates a great vocalist wouldn’t be able to help but want to hear more.
Whether you were on the floor or on the balcony, Griff turned the second to last stop of the Vertigo Tour into a personal experience. If you were at the show, consider it a win!
