Triple-threat performer Meg Donnelly just perfected a playful pop sound with her new single “close 2 me.”
The Disney’s Zombies star teamed up with Jon Bellion and Tenroc to craft the single, which is all about being clingy in your 20s. “close 2 me” has a fun and bouncy production, and Meg couldn’t be more proud of it!
“‘close 2 me’ is a song about being fun, flirty and maybe even clingy,” Meg says. “I believe the production of ‘close 2 me’ truly represents me. Having these early hip-hop influences, unique sounds that drive the song with y2k inspired production; while having soft vocals, almost bringing out this musical theatre side of me that I hold close. I think this song is a genre-less, fun, earworm song that everyone can dance to. I’m really proud of it and I LOVED working with Jon Bellion and Tenroc on it.”
Meg has been teasing an upcoming project titled dying art by sharing a series of audition tapes and confessional videos revolving the songs on the project. While Meg leans heavily into satire and parody with these clips, they also offer a glimpse into what she endured as she tried to break into the entertainment industry, Check out the “close 2 me” audition here!
“close 2 me” is bound to become your new favorite earworm. Give it a listen below!
