‘Isn’t It Romantic’ Review

What if what we saw in the movies wasn’t always fake? What if life was always one huge romantic comedy?

In the film Isn’t It Romantic, Natalie, played by Rebel Wilson, is an architect living in New York City, and has believed that the love stories she sees portrayed in those mushy-gushy-ushy-wushy rom coms are fake.

That is, until she wakes up in one.

Natalie’s reality has become everything she dreaded. Her neighborhood is squeaky clean, wardrobe has been replaced, and everyone around her is bubbling with happiness. Could “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton start playing at any given time? Absolutely!

However, it wouldn’t be a true romantic comedy if someone weren’t chasing a love interest. Natalie is conflicted in figuring out who her true lover is. Blake, played by Liam Hemsworth, is the knight in shining armor (and by armor, I mean a “Ken doll” body) who shows Natalie love by treating her to a taste of a lavish lifestyle. Josh, played by Adam Devine, is Natalie’s best friend, and Natalie finds herself in somewhat of a competition for his attention and affection. Who is she up against? Isabella, played by Priyanka Chopra, who is a yoga ambassador.

Eventually, Natalie realizes that self-love is the most important love there is. Sometimes we need that reminder, and Isn’t It Romantic does a great job of reminding us that having a little fun at the movies won’t hurt. This is a great ‘Galentines Day’ choice, and I feel like many millennials will be able to somewhat relate to Natalie.

Isn’t It Romantic hits theaters nationwide tomorrow and is rated PG-13.

  1. If i woke up in a romanic comedy i’d still tell jokes about trump cuz he is a really big joke lol.
I would enjoy it all to the fullest and share and love all that come into my life cuz it would have to be republican free otherwise the comedy stuff would be for nothing cuz they are gross and nothing is funny about them as they are sad little sheep who are in a ball of confusion, like the song.
Ok I’m ready so when can I start???
