Yungblud’s latest single “Weird!” is an undeniable bop. And while it was written before quarantine, the lyrics just feel more relatable than ever.
“Weird!” is a coming of age track where the singer finds himself candidly confessing feelings of fear and anxiety.
Yungblud shared, “I wrote the song about the weirdest time in my life ever imaginable. I felt like the ground beneath me was a maze that was shape shifting and I felt like I was going to fall down the cracks and in my opinion, the world feels exactly like that right now. I wanted this song to make everyone feel that everything was going to be alright no matter how weird things get.”
The music video for “Weird!” was shot with three of Yungblud’s quarantine buddies, and only cost $100 to make! The video starts off with Yungblud being asked, “If the world was going to end tomorrow, what would be the last story you told?”
What a question to ponder upon.
While the situation right now sucks, I think it’s important to try to make the most out of each day doing what we can. Seeing how others have been staying creative has definitely inspired me, and the “Weird!” music video is definitely one of the coolest I’ve seen made during this time period.
Yungblud is currently working on his sophomore album, and recently premiered THE YUNGBLUD SHOW on YouTube. The web series features intimate at-home performances, as well as guest appearances from friends and collaborators like Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, and 24KGoldn.
