Katy Perry is here with her new single “Daisies”, which is the first track off her yet to be titled album set for release on August 14.
“Daisies” is an exciting song that celebrates the strength of the human spirit, and is a call to stay true to yourself, regardless of what others may think!
Katy wrote in an Instagram post, “I wrote this song a couple months ago as a call to remain true to the course you’ve set for yourself, regardless of what others may think. Recently, it has taken a new meaning for me, in light of what the whole world is experiencing. Each of us is one in more than seven billion, with our own story of strength and resilience to tell. I hope it will be the soundtrack to going for your dreams now… especially the ones we left behind.”
“Daisies” was produced by The Monsters & Strangerz (Zedd, Halsey, Maroon 5). Katy wrote the song with Jon Bellion, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Michael Pollack and The Monsters’ Jordan K. Johnson and Stefan Johnson.
And of course, an empowering bop like “Daisies” deserves an equally as powerful music video! The official music video features Katy performing her new song in a breathtaking natural setting. Filmmaker Liza Voloshin shot the clips from a “safe social distance”.
