Tones And I just dropped her new single “Ur So F**kInG cOoL”, and I can’t help but wonder… has she been reading my mind?
“Ur So F**kinG cOoL” is one of those songs that describes a whole mood, and in a way takes the words right out of my mouth for me. If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s when I’m around someone and get a vibe that they think they’re all that. Evidently, Tones And I would agree. Speaking on the meaning of the song, she explained, “I wrote this song after I went to a party and everyone there thought they were the coolest thing ever and I just thought ‘this is shit, I’m leaving.’”
Story of my life. Literally.
In early 2018, Tones And I traveled from Australia’s Mornington Peninsula to Byron Bay so she could take a chance at busking. On her first day, she had an unprecedented crowd. She quit her retail job, and lived out of her van in Byron for a year. Tones And I then went on to release the inescapable “Dance Monkey”, which has amassed over 7 billion streams worldwide.
