How does a drive through the city late at night make you feel? Better yet, taking that drive while riding in a convertible, with a cool breeze flowing past your head?
Okay wow. I’m in love. I’m also in love with Petit Biscuit’s new single “Drivin Thru the Night,” which was just released today! The French producer’s new track offers a glimpse into a long night of soul-searching, longing for love, and ultimately, realizing the only person you truly need in life is yourself.
“Drivin Thru the Night” will be featured on Petit Biscuit’s forthcoming LP. His debut album Presence charted worldwide in 2017, and since then he has been wowing crowds at festivals such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, and even on his own sold-out headlining tour.
Petit Biscuit says his glistening new song “is first about freedom. A lonely man is wandering through the streets, living how he wants and going where he wants until he finds his lonely alter-ego. They are sharing what most people would call the beginning of a love story…I would simply call it complicity. Most people would also think they need love to exist but it’s wrong. You can live and exist by yourself. You don’t need anyone else. I’ve been writing all the lyrics in Iceland, where I was isolated for months. I was missing my loved ones but at the same time, I didn’t feel any pressure from anyone, so I had this idea of this lonely man, who’s obviously me, and all that story around.”
