Since the release of her previous single “Retrograde” back in June, ENZI has been in the lab preparing new tunes for her listeners. Today, she’s back with her new single “Mad Chemistry.”
The Nashville alt-pop singer/songwriter created the track alongside co-writer Jeff Cohen, and was produced by Bobby Campbell. There’s always a story behind every great song, and the story behind “Mad Chemistry” involves quite an awkward scenario.
ENZI spills, “‘Mad Chemistry’ stems from something that happened to me recently. Have you ever met someone and, after just a few minutes of talking thought to yourself, ‘we would be so perfect for each other,’ only to find out they are already dating someone? I met this guy and thought we would make a great couple but then I also happened to meet his girlfriend. I couldn’t believe it because they seemed like total opposites but I might have just been projecting because I had those initial feelings about him and I had convinced myself that I was his type. So that girl got the guy and I got this song [laughs].”
