BTS Returns To ‘Late Late Show’ For Legendary ‘Dynamite’ Performance

If there was a day to be proud to be a member of the BTS ARMY, today was that day.

Nominations for the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards were unveiled in the morning, and BTS earned their very first one for Best Pop/Duo Performance with their chart-topping single “Dynamite.” This makes BTS the very first Korean group to be nominated for a Grammy! To celebrate the occasion, the guys returned to The Late Late Show with James Corden for a legendary performance of “Dynamite.”

Yes, I said legendary.

There’s certain moments in your life where you’ll never forget where you were when you saw them unfold. Hearing BTS’ name called during the Grammy nomination live-stream was one of them. Emotions have been running high ever since, and James Corden wanted to keep the energy levels as-is by inviting BTS back on the show for a second night in a row.

On Monday, BTS performed “Life Goes On” at The Late Late Show. After an overwhelming reception from ARMYs, it was only fair that there was an encore!

Before performing, the guys sat down with James Corden to discuss their reactions to the news. V admitted that he was in such a state of shock during the announcement, his nostrils did the reacting for him! J-Hope was asleep, but shed some tears the moment he woke up. All of the members have been filled to the top with joy, including Suga, who is at home resting after his surgery.

To me, one of the most admirable factors of James’ interviews with BTS is his constant respect for not only the guys, but for ARMYs as well. He doesn’t try to crack provocative jokes around the guys, and avoids comments that could potentially be interpreted as offensive. He knows how to be entertaining without “pushing it,” and he never belittles the fans.

After the interview, BTS gave a performance of “Dynamite” that was nothing short of epic. Picking right off where yesterday’s performance left off, Jungkook waltzed through the halls… and ended up on an airport tarmac. YES, they really rented out an airport, and a Korean Air jet for this performance! BTS also made their way to a set that mirrored The Late Late Show‘s studio in LA.

The amount of detail poured into this performance is truly breathtaking, and it just goes to show (yet again) that there’s no other band in the world doing it like BTS.
