Your teen years can certainly be filled with tornados full of thoughts, emotions, and struggles. New challenges take center stage, and it can all be super overwhelming. It’s important to try to take some moments to just breathe, and today Mikey Ferrari is here to deliver some sonic relief with his new single “standoff.”
Growing up, Mikey Ferrari found comfort in playing the piano, and listening to the likes of Kid Cudi, Jon Bellion, The Eagles, The Beatles, and Paul Simon. Mikey grew up in the Bay Area, but by the end of his sophomore year, he knew it was time for a change. He moved to Montana, and was able to benefit from a switch in scenery.
After being gifted a guitar by his sister, things took yet another turn for the better. He started teaching himself how to write, and uploaded his music onto SoundCloud. Mikey quickly grew a following, and the rest is history! Now based in LA, Mikey is gearing up to release his debut EP SPACEBOY. The project is all about embracing who you are, because ultimately, everyone is different!
“standoff” is the final track from the EP, and details the emotions felt when losing a dear friend. He confessed, “I lost a close friend from Montana and I regretted not communicating more.” Filled with glistening synths and guitar riffs, “standoff” is the perfect song to envision yourself stargazing to, and simply cherishing the beauty that our universe has to offer.
