
Ever since the Tate McRae train left the station, it’s been going full speed ahead. The Canadian singer/songwriter has been cranking out bop after bop, including “you broke me first,” which is now approaching the 800 million global streams mark!
“you broke me first” continues to grow even bigger by the day. The song is heading into the Top 5 rankings on Top 40 radio, as well as the Top 15 at Hot AC radio. It currently sits at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has earned Tate a #1 spot for five weeks on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart.
One could say “you broke me first” is like a gem, or a pot of gold. Actually, it’s platinum! (Literally.) “you broke me first” has gone 4x Platinum in Ireland, 2x Platinum in Mexico and New Zealand, and Platinum in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Finland, France, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
It’s a global takeover, and it’s just getting started. On March 26th, Tate will be releasing her new EP, too young to be sad. Today is surely an occasion for a celebration, and Apple Music is leading the party by naming Tate McRae their Up Next Artist for March 2021. As part of the campaign, Tate released her very own Up Next film. It’s a month-long affair though. On March 30, Tate will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
