Trust issues. I’d assume we’ve all got them, right? Or at least, to an extent. Even if we don’t always mean to let our guards down, there’s always the chance that someone can come around and take advantage of our vulnerability. If we end up removing the person from our life, a sense of worry might take over, because hey – that person is now running around with some huge secrets we just hope they won’t spill!
But, I’ve never had issues trusting that Zoe Wees will continue to create songs that speak to an entire generation. Her previous single “Girls Like Us” has surpassed over 110 million streams worldwide, and has even received a remix from Felix Jaehn! Back with her new offering “Ghost,” Zoe Wees is offering some comfort (and perhaps closure) to anyone who has been left feeling broken by someone they once confided in.
“‘Ghost’ was written about letting someone get too close, even if you know they can hurt you,” Zoe says. “It’s about the feeling of being vulnerable to that person in a way that could basically destroy your life. It was written in one of my first writing sessions, so it feels special to release it.”
“Ghost” will appear on Zoe Wees’ new EP Golden Wings, out on May 21. Click here to pre-save, and listen to “Ghost” below!
