When the world gets flipped upside down, your plans might follow the same course. But if you’re Dreamer Boy, you keep moving forward so you can flip the world right-side up with your sophomore album.
Zach Taylor, aka Dreamer Boy, has been on a mission to spread love all across the globe through our universal language – music. Little did he know, his new album All The Ways We Are Together would arrive at a time when humanity could certainly use some love. Over the past year, Dreamer Boy has rolled out a handful of ethereal singles such as “Crybaby,” “Don’t Be A Fool,” and “Easier Said Than Done,” all leading up to the album release. But each of these tracks, along with the rest of the album, were completed just as the pandemic was starting.
“We spent 3 weeks last February hunkered down at a house studio in LA,” Dreamer Boy recalled. “We went there and the album wasn’t done, we left there and the album was done!”
The state of the world inevitably caused the project to take on a totally new meaning. He admitted, “It’s been a cool opportunity for me to expand upon what I thought it was and turn it into something new.”
Many of the world’s issues don’t have a simple fix, and many people may not have answers to said issues. However, many will say that being able to find common ground is a great step towards getting things done. In a way, All The Ways We Are Together is Dreamer Boy’s call to action, encouraging us to be conscious of the way we treat one another. “The songs are about the love we have for ourselves, the love we have for our friends, and the love we can show the environment around us,” he mentions.
Music is something that can always bring people from different countries, cultures, and walks of life together. It reflects our emotions, our struggles, and our ambitions. Each song holds a unique meaning to each individual, and Dreamer Boy considers it to be “a little sprinkle on top of whatever is going on.” Whether it be his own creations or those of others, music has been a way for Dreamer Boy to maintain a close relationship with those he cares about.
Dreamer Boy spilled, “I would say there’s definitely been some cornerstone projects and albums that have come out from some of me and my friends’ favorite artists, or people we discovered this year that have meant a lot to us. It’s amazing to share that enthusiasm with the people you love, and I’m always sending music to my family and friends. People including myself aren’t always the best at listening right away, but I love when I get a text back and it’s like ‘yo, I love the album you just sent me!’ It’s always the best.”
Sharing is caring, and sharing good music is an extra special form of care. If you consider yourself to be someone who likes to bask in delectable bedroom pop beats, All The Ways We Are Together is an album you’ll find yourself passing along to your friends! The project feels like a reminder to just look up at the sky every now and then. Stop and smell the roses. “Touch grass,” as we’d say on Stan Twitter. (Unless of course, you’re allergic to grass like me!) Really take a moment to feel the world around you – even though it might feel like things aren’t in tact, not all is broken.
But most importantly, dream on. Listen to All The Ways We Are Together below!
