Bailey Baum knows what’s good for her… and bad for her too. Going back to a toxic ex? Bad. Successfully resisting the urge to do so and writing a song about it so others remember they don’t need to resort to such a thing either? VERY good!
There’s just no other way to put it. In life, you’ve gotta turn to good music… not people who made you feel bad. This is yet another reason why Bailey Baum has your back today with her new single “Bad For Me.”
From a very young age, Bailey Baum knew exactly how she could (and would) stand out from those around her. Growing up alongside five other siblings at home in Dallas, Bailey would entertain her family by singing on a makeshift stage or anywhere else she could deem a performance space. At eight years old, Bailey started taking singing lessons, and started writing her own songs a few years later.
As Bailey’s teenage years rolled in, she started making plans to take her lifelong dream of becoming a singer to the next level. During high school, Bailey found herself performing all around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Then at eighteen, Bailey decided it was time to head out to Los Angeles! She’s been working on plenty of music since then, and recently inked a deal with Next Wave Records / Ultra Records.
“Bad For Me” will lead into her debut EP Over It, set for release on July 30. Bailey says of the song, “I wrote this in 2020 with some incredible songwriters [Cameron Mitchell & Emily Fullerton] during the process of healing from a heartbreak,” Bailey says. “I wanted to fall back into the person because I missed them but I knew doing that was bad for me, which inspired the song.”
