If there’s anyone in your life who needs a gentle reminder of who’s boss, now is the time to do a dramatic walk into the room as Mabel’s new single “Let Them Know” plays in the background!
It seems like a scene out of a movie, but “Let Them Know” is indeed a song meant to celebrate (you) being the main character in life. Written alongside her dear friends Raye, SG Lewis and MNEK, “Let Them Know” encourages listeners to treat themselves like the A-List stars they are. Feel like pouring yourself another drink tonight? Go right on ahead. Did you just graduate, and feel like wearing your cap and gown to the grocery store? By all means, do it! Do you feel a sudden urge to do your hair and makeup, despite not really having anywhere to go? Don’t fight the urge… rock those looks at home! Wanna step into your 2015 Toyota Prius and pretend you’re driving a Rolls Royce? I won’t stop you (unless you drank right beforehand. Please, never do that.)
Basically, this song encourages you to do it big, and do it all. Mabel also has plenty of accomplishments that were owed a celebration, including her 2020 BRIT Award win for Best Female Solo Artist, and surpassing the 4 billion stream mark for her first album High Expectations. The pandemic cut her tour for the album in half, and Mabel found herself back at home with her parents. But of course, none of this stopped her creative juices from flowing like a champagne shower. Mabel enrolled in some dance classes, and channeled every single thing she missed about life prior to the pandemic into songs for a new era.
