Earlier this year, Rachel McIntyre Smith encouraged listeners to drop off their “Baggage.” If you still have some, you may as well as get ready to drop it off at the airport, because her new single “Blue Hawaii” will make you want to go straight to the beach!
The country singer was enjoying a night out and drinking a blue hawaiian, but ended up being ditched by a guy. The next day, she started coming up with ways to creatively insult the guy. Using nautical and beach terms, she ended up writing “Blue Hawaii.”
“When I was creating ‘Blue Hawaii’ I wanted it to feel like the soundtrack to a fun beach vacation with your best friend,” says Rachel. “Lighthearted and fun. The song to perfectly accompany a beach sunset while you’re sipping on a Piña Colada or Blue Hawaiian. I think we were able to capture that and I hope others think so too.”
