vaultboy shares a story of the “aftermath”

Once you listen to vaultboy’s new single “aftermath,” you’d probably guess the rising singer/songwriter has been through quite a bit lately. The statement can absolutely go both ways though! Just a few months ago, vaultboy released his debut track “everything sucks,” which immediately shot to the top spot on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart. To take the excitement to the next level, vaultboy also teamed up with Eric Nam for a fun remix of the song.

In the midst of the celebrations, it would truly be unfortunate if something (like a breakup) made it all come to a screeching halt. Thankfully, the story of “aftermath” isn’t exactly vaultboy’s! In reality, the track was inspired by a pretty gnarly breakup vaultboy watched his close friend go through.

“Sometimes I feel like I have an easier time telling a really important story when I’m not the one who experienced it first hand,” vaultboy admits. “That being said, there is a lot of inspiration from my own life in the song as well. I like to tell stories that can help me convey emotions that I have trouble facing head on, and this one is a big example of that!”

While “aftermath” may not be about vaultboy’s own experience, he does an incredible job of telling the story as if it were his own. Whether your own experiences (or those of your friends!) come to mind while listening to this song, you’ll feel this one for sure! Check out “aftermath” below.
