Dreamer Boy Runs Towards His Truth In “KEEP THE PACE”

Adam Alonzo

Have you been keeping up with Dreamer Boy lately?

Back in April, the Nashville-based singer and songwriter released his sophomore album All the Ways We Are Together. Dreamer Boy (government name Zach Taylor) purposely chose Earth Day to release his album, as one of its main messages was to treat ourselves and everyone around us with care. The world is always in need of a little more love, and Dreamer Boy’s favorite way of spreading that love is through his music.

But as time went on, Dreamer Boy really started to realize the world can leave you feeling drained pretty quickly. Everything seems to move at a faster pace as the days progress, and having to keep up isn’t always easy – especially as a creative! Hustle culture, anyone? *cough cough*

Reflecting upon his own frustrations, Dreamer Boy decided to let it all out in his new single “KEEP THE PACE.” He spilled:

“I have been observing and experiencing the toll that social media, identity, and swift technological advances have had on my own mental health, and those around me. As an artist, it’s been a confusing time of figuring out who I really am. I don’t want to put on some act for my ‘brand’ or package myself up to sell. It turns out we all do it no matter if you’re trying to promote something or not, we are trying to convince others who we are. I’ve been trying to do some work on finding and rediscovering my pure identity, working towards self-love and honesty. I’m definitely not perfect but my eyes are open and I’m hoping there is a way forward that is more sustainable for our culture.”
