Apparently, some of us weren’t warned about the dangers of playing in traffic as kids… and by some of us, I mean James Corden. But hey, at least it makes for some top-tier content, especially when the biggest band on Earth is involved!
On tonight’s episode of the Late Late Show with James Corden, the crosswalk concert segment made a grand return with BTS. After recently hosting a crosswalk concert with Harry Styles and facilitating crosswalk productions of popular Broadway musicals, James Corden invited BTS to carry out their own spectacle in the street.
The anticipation levels for BTS’ Late Late Show crosswalk concert were astronomical, as ARMYs all over the web gushed over clips lucky bystanders were able to capture from the taping. (Seriously though, how would you feel if you were driving down Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles, arrived at a red light, and BTS started performing right in front of you? Personally, I would be WAY too shook to proceed. Jesus, come and take the wheel!)
James Corden was incredibly enthusiastic about the performance too, and even took a moment to flex his dancing skills at the beginning of the segment. Was he simply trying to demonstrate “how it’s done,” or was he indirectly asking to become the eighth member of the group for the day? I guess we’ll never know, but what we do know is this: no matter the venue, BTS are always guaranteed to put on a performance of epic proportions.
If there’s anyone who may need some proof that BTS are capable of adapting to just about any space, this crosswalk concert segment is the ultimate “receipt.” While racing into the street to perform their #1 hits “Butter,” “Permission To Dance,” and “Dynamite,” BTS kept their energy and humor at the highest level. It’s no wonder Corden wanted BTS to put on a few (hundred) more crosswalk concerts! That doesn’t sound like such a bad idea, right?
Just make sure I’m front row next time.

Never have I ever been more jealous of people sitting in traffic.
