Happy New Music Friday to everyone! The temperatures have been rising, and this week in particular has been a scorcher. If you haven’t experienced the California heat and humidity wave, you probably know someone who has. Thankfully, we have tons of new music to help us get through it!

Here’s what I’ll ☀️ personally ☀️ be streaming this weekend. Join me!

CORDAE – “MAKE UP YOUR MIND”

Let me kick off this week’s roundup with what has to be one of my favorite songs of the summer! Cordae’s latest offering, “Make Up Your Mind,” is a song that shines bright like the summer sun. This one honestly caught me by surprise, and I’m sure many others will agree. It might not be what you were expecting from the rapper, but it’s something you definitely needed in your life. You and me both.

Cordae is currently on tour with NF. He said, “I just wanted to make a timeless song that makes people feel good.

BBGIRLS – “ONE MORE TIME”

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be partying hard this weekend… and BBGIRLS gave me exactly what I needed to kick off my festivities! ONE MORE TIME helps welcome in a brand new era for the group, as it’s their first release since rebranding. Each member participated in every step of the process of creating the single album, adding to the excitement and color of this release.

“ONE MORE TIME” has a glamorous retro feel, and the song samples “Give It To Me Baby” by Rick James.

BBGIRLS member Eunji said, “We are excited and nervous at the same time to see how our fans will feel about the new BBGIRLS, but we believe that you will love it!”

Kali Uchis – “Muñekita” (feat. El Alfa & JT)

“MUÑEKITA” HAS SLAY GIRL SUMMER WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!!

Marley Bleu – “unintentional” (with Pink Sweat$)

Marley Bleu started posting covers on TikTok in 2020, and her voice has been loved by millions of viewers worldwide! Drake, Timbaland, Yebba, Sean Hamilton, and many more have given Marley a thumbs up, and you’re bound to do the same when you check out “unintentional.”

It’s a sweet love song, and just the first serving from the platter of new music that will come from Marley soon! Also, collaborating with Pink Sweat$ for your first official single is an uh-may-zing way to kick off what’ll be an incredible musical career.

DYLAN – “LIAR LIAR” (feat. Dan Smith of Bastille)

Two of my faves came together for this absolute gem, and I’m as happy as can be. Dylan supported Bastille on tour in the UK, and she became friends with lead singer Dan. The two decided to reunite for “Liar Liar.”

DYLAN spilled, “We’d written 9 songs that week and I was convinced I’d burnt myself out. Dan (Bastille) arrived on the Friday morning and I presented the very last idea in my head, which was literally just the ‘liar liar liar liar’ part of the song, and everything came to form quite quickly from there.

The song is about deception from someone that you put your full trust in. When it came to recording the vocals, I very sheepishly suggested Dan recorded the second verse, just in case he wanted to be a part of it, which luckily he ended up doing! What is so lovely about this song is it was written a couple of months ago, in a matter of hours, with no pre-plan on it being a feature. Normally songs take huge amounts of time to see the light of day, but this one managed to slip through the cracks very quickly, with one of my favourite artists being a part of it.”

MAE STEPHENS – “MR RIGHT” (feat. Meghan Trainor)

Mae Stephens is tired of running into mid men, and we really can’t blame her. Mae’s new single “Mr Right” brings the breakout star and Meghan Trainor together in pursuit of someone who will stand out for all the right reasons.

“I am beyond honoured that Mae asked me to be a part of this song!!” Meghan said. “I have been a big fan of hers from afar on social media and was so excited when her team reached out. I am convinced that she is my long-lost little sister, and I am so excited that we now get to have a song together. Mae is a young legend, and I cannot wait for more and more people to discover her and to hear her incredible song writing and vocal skills. She is the sweetest and most talented girl and deserves all the success in the world! ❤️”

“Meghan is an artist I have idolised for years!” Mae added. “She is the artist I aspire to be, so working with her has been an absolute dream come true! Especially working with a huge artist for the first time she just makes me feel so heard and comfortable! She is the ideal artist, the kindest person I have ever met and the most amazing MOTHER! Both to her kids and also as a role model music mother for me 🙂 Thank you Meghan!!! 💕🥰

SOPHIE ROSE – “HEALTHY”

I’m not a doctor, but I can say Sophie Rose‘s new song “Healthy” will do wonders for your mind, body, and soul! “Healthy” will be an anthem for those who can’t help indulging in a connection that isn’t the best idea.

Laura Von Mari – “Forevermore

In desperate need of a new indie pop bop? Laura von Mari has you covered with her latest single “Forevermore,” which she wrote and produced all by herself.

“’Forevermore’ is about someone who let me down when I trusted them and made me feel small,” says Laura. “She was older and pretty and feminine and all the things I was jealous of. I hope it empowers listeners to revisit times when they felt powerless with a newfound sense of strength. Sometimes we owe it to ourselves to condemn those who betrayed, hurt or belittled us when we were vulnerable.”

Cel NoLackin – “Told U

Something tells me Cel NoLackin has a very bright future ahead of him. The 16 year old rapper from Harrisburg, PA makes his major label debut today with “Told U.” He hopes to be a positive influence for the youth, and I can’t wait to see what he’ll offer next!

Bebe Rexha and David Guetta – “One in a Million”

Can David Guetta and Bebe Rexha please collaborate together for the rest of my life? Anything these two come up with together turns to gold, and “One in a Million” will be no exception.

The song also feels like a teeny tiny little nod to “When Love Takes Over,” don’t you think?
