Are you up for a game of ping pong?
London based electro pop artist Sofi Vonn is delivering a fierce, playful experience for your ears with her latest single “Ping Pong.” Today she shares the music video for her creation, which allowed her to try out totally new sounds and a new approach to her songwriting process.
As Sofi Vonn grew up in New York City, music began to flow through her veins. She moved back and forth between Europe and the United States for quite a while, but it only fueled her love for her craft and allowed her to take on brand new ventures.
Sofi says, “I experimented stylistically with ‘Ping Pong’ and really love how it turned out. The groove of the production made the process really fun and natural. It’s interesting how different the process felt to my previous records which often start with lyrics and/or an idea. Focusing more on style helped me creatively as these are some of the fastest lyrics I’ve ever written. It’s definitely a change of pace but I’m looking forward to reactions and hope to do more similar stuff in the future.”
She continues, “I wanted the video for Ping Pong to be fun and abstract. Since the songwriting process flowed so naturally, we used the same approach when shooting, intercutting different performance shots with playful ping pong themed shots. The atmosphere showcases the connection between myself and the laid back message of the song.”
