Ally Salort Shares Cinematic New Single ‘Horror Movie’

Vibrant alt-pop singer Ally Salort‘s new single “Horror Movie” is a tale of caution for those who can’t seem to stay away from someone who is bound to sabotage them. Just like in a film where the protagonist fails to heed caution and avoid a well known villain, Ally uses this song as an opportunity to compare this scenario to a bad partner.

“Horror movie is one big metaphor for going back to a person that will hurt you every time,” says Ally. “Opening the door (the relationship) that everyone around you is screaming for you to not open; very similar to the girl that dies first in every scary film. I had the lines ‘I’m damned if I do but I’ll be more damned if I don’t’ and from there we wrote the chorus. Can’t wait for people to hear the whole thing!”

As she showcases her carefully crafted lyricism and delicate vocals on “Horror Movie,” the urge to discover more of Ally’s discography simply intensifies. The 21-year-old artist from Maplewood, New Jersey has felt a yearning for the arts since she was a child. Citing inspiration from watching her older brother’s recitals, she enrolled in vocal lessons of her own. Things kicked into overdrive for Ally at 14, when she was flown to LA as part of a talent search and had the opportunity to record in a professional studio and meet with industry executives. The experience motivated her to start posting covers on YouTube, grow her audience on TikTok, and share the music we can all enjoy from her today!
