MONSTA X is Back At Last With New Mini Album ‘THE X’!

Ten years after their debut, MONSTA X are showing no signs of slowing down!

Reuniting for their first mini album of their post-military era, MONSTA X have released THE X. The project celebrates a decade of trendsetting tunes, performances, and visuals from the group, and their indestructible dynamic.

In August, MONSTA X shared the pre-release single “Do What I Want,” which served as a bold, groovy re-introduction to the group. The themes of self-assurance and independence continue throughout the EP, especially in the focus track “N the Front.” The song is about the mission to stay ahead of the game, and the constant push and pull that comes with the competition. Rather than following a set of expectations, the group will always race to the top their own way.

THE X continues with “Savior,” led by steamy bass lines and a playful piano riff. “Tuscan Leather” cranks the heat up even more, opening with a signature rap by JOOHONEY. Blending sensuality and swagger together over boom bap and electronic beats, “Tuscan Leather” promises a fun experience for listeners. JOOHONEY helped produce the track, and contributed to the songwriting process along with I.M.

“Catch Me Now” follows “Tuscan Leather,” which narrates a story of how troubling, yet tempting it can be to pursue unattainable love. Lyrically, the two tracks might seem to contradict one another when paired side by side – but it’s all part of the fun of a MONSTA X album!

The album comes to a conclusion with “Fire & Ice,” which was written, composed, and arranged by HYUNGWON. Providing a rather cinematic ending to the project, the song describes the desire to be with someone special no matter what.

MONSTA X are ushering in a new chapter of their careers with THE X, and it’s one that is more unapologetic and fearless than ever. Check it out below!
