IVE recently announced an expansion of ‘IVE WORLD TOUR <SHOW WHAT I AM>,’ with new tour dates set for North America this summer. However, LA fans didn’t have to wait until August to catch the group in action!
On March 27, IVE hosted an exclusive listening party at the Hollywood Palladium’s Vinyl Lounge, where fans (known as DIVE) had the chance to be face-to-face with the members in an intimate setting and hear REVIVE+ in ultra high quality audio. The official emcee of the evening was Billboard’s TETRIS, and after playing a DJ set featuring many of IVE’s catalog highlights, he sat down with the members to chat about each track on REVIVE+.
REVIVE+ was released in late February, but the listening party took place in March to get DIVE excited about the tour! The tour will be centered around REVIVE+, which features 12 explosive tracks such as “BANG BANG” and “BLACKHOLE.” Both of those songs are considered title tracks for this album, and when asked about having two title tracks, WONYOUNG said the group “wanted to show everyone our diverse, attractive moments.”
Each member also has a solo song on the album, which is a first for the group. The members expressed their excitement for being able to have their own solo performances on the upcoming tour, as it will allow DIVE to see a new side of IVE.
WONYOUNG mentioned that preparing for the group performances truly relies on teamwork, but when it comes to solos, she gets a “lot of opinions” from her fellow members. When asked to describe her solo track “8,” she led everyone to say “6-7” first, and proceeded to make an eight figure with her hands. She encouraged everyone to do the same on tour and said, “I can make eight with my hands, so I think you guys can do it too!”
ANYUJIN had the opportunity to work with renowned producer Dem Jointz for her solo song “Force.” “I’m such a big fan of him,” she said. “It was such an honor to work with him!”
REI helped write and compose her solo song “In Your Heart.” When asked what her favorite part of the process was, she didn’t hesitate to say “EVERYTHING!”
All of the members can’t wait to return to the United States for their tour, and they especially can’t wait to return to LA to perform and grab coffee! WONYOUNG said she loved LA’s coffee and food. All of the members also showed enthusiasm towards visiting BCD Tofu House and Ahgassi Gopchang – staples in LA’s Korean barbecue scene.
