LEADR Wants To Remind You He’s Human – And So Are You!

No one should have to live in fear of being themselves. After all, we’re all human! Keeping that in mind, singer/songwriter/producer and all around visionary LEADR wants to remind everyone of their worth with his new single and visual for “Hi, I’m Human.”

Over the past few years, LEADR has developed his own unique creative identity. LEADR (aka Alexander Tang) was born in Tampa, and was raised in New Jersey by his traditional Vietnamese parents. As LEADR grew up though, he often faced adversity. “I’ve experienced bullying and physical abuse in my life,” he recalled. “Traditionally, I was taught to not speak up and to get myself out of trouble.”

However, the moment came when LEADR decided to take a stand.

When I had enough from my abuser, I pushed back,” he said. “That is what we need to do now and fight back. Know your worth and stand tall! That is why I’m using my platform to encourage other Asians to share their stories. We are all in this together.”

In 2018, LEADR released his debut single “Waves.” Many successful singles followed, including “3am,” which was added to Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist. During a time when Asian American and Pacific Islander communities are facing a significant rise in hate incidents, LEADR strives to promote positivity and unity more than ever. “Hi, I’m Human” is LEADR’s way of speaking out about his lifelong experiences of being made to feel less than human.

LEADR says, “As a community, AAPI needs to start sharing their stories. Using my voice, I hope that my song builds awareness to be careful with the words you choose. Our words do lift or they can destroy. We all suffer and seek love and validation. Let’s take united against racism, hatred, violence, and bullying. We’re all human.”
